Before and After Care Program (2011-12):

We are looking forward to another great Before and After Care year with Amy Kravetzker, Leslie Clark Hipps and Therese Michael!  The program is licensed and regulated by the MSDE Office of Child Care and is available for children ages 5 and up.

Times:
Before Care:  Monday - Friday 7:00-8:45am
After Care:  Monday - Thursday  4:00 - 6:00pm
Fridays  3:00 - 6:00pm (due to 2:45 dismissal on Fridays)

There are only 30 spaces available for this program on a daily basis, filled in the order reservations are received.  To register your child(ren), please open and print the Registration Form and send it to MMCI along with a $50 deposit to MMCI B&A Care, 217 Dill Avenue, Frederick, MD 21701.  (This form has information about the program including fees, billing procedures and more.)   Also attached is a Health Information Release to sign and send in with the registration. After the first day of school, Amy Kravetzker will have additional forms for parents of children who will attend on a regular basis.

Reminder to all parents: The Registration form and Health Information Release are needed for every child whether or not regular B&A Care is needed.

There will be no B&A Care when there are weather-related FCPS delayed openings or early dismissals, nor will B&A Care be open on scheduled holidays or partial days unless otherwise announced in the Thursday school newsletter or the e-mail list serve.  For your reference and planning purposes, refer to FCPS's calendar of holidays/closures.

Health Information Release

Orton Gillingham Program:
MVMPCS offers the Orton Gillingham method of instruction for students that need additional instruction in reading/language arts.  Orton Gillingham is a multisensory, structured approach to language.  Teaching is done using all pathways in the brain (visual/auditory, kinesthetic-tactile) simultaneously in order to enhance memory and learning. Students are tutored on an individual basis, thirty minutes per day, three to five days per week.

Primary Program (Pre-K - Kindergarten):
MVMPCS offers a no-fee Primary Program for 3 and 4 year olds as well as a full day Kindergarten.  Your child must be three by September 1 to enter the 3-year Program, four by September 1 to enter the 4-year Program, and 5 by September 1 to enter Kindergarten.  The 3 and 4 program hours are 9:00am to 11:30am, Monday through Friday. Kindergarten hours are 9:00am to 3:45pm, Monday through Thursday and 9:00am to 2:45pm Friday.  FCPS applications for the program may be downloaded from the website, or picked up at any Frederick County public school.
